Unveiled in 1994 as a limited edition of 500 pieces, the Reverso Répétition Minutes exudes class, elegance, and sophistication, showcasing one of watchmaking’s most cherished and complex complications — the minute repeater. As Jaeger-LeCoultre’s first minute-repeating wristwatch, it is powered by the manual calibre 943, crafted by the esteemed watchmaker Eric Coudray. The chime is both powerful and resonant, a remarkable achievement given the modest size of the case. Jaeger-LeCoultre drew upon their full technical expertise to create this “king of complications.” Not only is the movement unusually compact compared to most repeaters, it also marks the first ever rectangular repeater. The calibre 943 comprises 306 individually finished and hand-adjusted components.
The Reverso’s classic design is highlighted by a silver dial with a guilloché center. The repeater’s slide is integrated flush with the case, creating a sleek, streamlined profile. The centrifugal governor, visible at 5 o’clock, spins consistently while the repeater is activated, regulating the chiming with precision.
This example, numbered 65 of 500, is in very good overall condition and comes complete with its full set of accessories. For collectors seeking an elegant, historically significant minute-repeating wristwatch with enduring iconic appeal, this represents an opportunity not to be missed.
