The Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso is an enduring icon, cherished by both men and women. To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Reverso, originally launched in 1931, the Maison released a limited six-model series in 1991, showcasing major complications in larger pink-gold cases. The series began with the '60ème' featuring power reserve and date in 1991, designed by Daniel Wild; followed by this Tourbillon in 1993 by Sylvain Golay; a Minute Repeater in 1994 by Eric Coudray; a Retrograde Chronograph in 1996 by Manuel Guerin; the Géographique ‘World Time’ Duoface in 1998 by Philippe Vandel; and a Perpetual Calendar in 2000 by Rachel Torresani.
This Reverso Tourbillon is number 489 of 500 limited edition pieces. The rectangular reversible case presents a silvered engine-turned dial on one side, while the reverse reveals a sapphire crystal showcasing the exquisite tourbillon carriage alongside a power reserve indicator. Preserved in very good overall condition and complete with its full set of accessories, this remarkable Reverso Tourbillon is a highly coveted treasure for Jaeger-LeCoultre collectors.
