Unveiled in 2020 at Watches & Wonders to mark the celebration of A. Lange & Söhne’s 175th anniversary of the founding father Ferdinand Adolph Lange, the 1815 Thin Homage was launch alongside with the Tourbograph Perpetual and 1815 Rattrapante. This commemorative trio, all belong to the 1815 collection and are featured in this auction. As the name suggests, the series pays tribute to Ferdinand Adolph Lange (1815–1875), the visionary who laid the foundation of Saxony’s precision watchmaking industry when he inaugurated his first pocket watch workshop on December 7, 1845. Each of the three anniversary models features a Honeygold case, special movement decoration, and distinctive dial treatments—either through new colors or materials.

The 1815 Thin Honeygold embodies the purest form of time-only elegance, and showcases many of Lange’s traditional design hallmarks, including the railway-track minute scale reminiscent of Ferdinand Adolph Lange’s pocket watches. Measuring 38 mm in diameter and just 6.3 mm thick, it sits perfectly on the wrist and slips effortlessly under a cuff. Unusually, the dial is made of enamel, a feature rarely found on entry-level or time-only Lange watches. The last time the brand offered a time-only model with an enamel dial was the Langematik Anniversary in 2001. The two-part enamel dial features dark-grey printed Arabic numerals, while inside beats the manually wound L093.1 manufacture caliber. Its freely oscillating Lange balance spring, paired with a classic screw balance, ensures exceptional precision.

This sophisticated two-hand dress watch is limited to 175 pieces, a nod to the anniversary, and is numbered 20 of a limited edition of 175 pieces. The present example is offered in overall excellent unworn condition and accompanied with its full set of accessories.
