In October 2005, Wempe celebrated the centenary of its watch manufacture, Wempe Chronometerwerke GmbH, originally founded in 1905 as Chronometerwerke GmbH and acquired by Herbert Wempe in 1938. To commemorate this milestone, Wempe commissioned special editions from prestigious brands including Audemars Piguet, IWC Schaffhausen, and Panerai.

For Wempe, Audemars Piguet created a distinctive timepiece: the first men’s Royal Oak Offshore without a chronograph function, housed in a standard 42mm case. Marking the brand’s inaugural foray into dedicated dive watches, this model features a unidirectional internal rotating bezel, designed exclusively to turn counterclockwise, ensuring safety and precision underwater. The dial is richly adorned with the signature machine-carved “tapisserie” motif, enhanced and enlarged for added depth and texture.

Subsequent Boutique editions released in 2007 and 2008, known as the ‘Blue’ and ‘Red’ editions, were limited to 300 pieces each. All special Boutique models feature a solid caseback engraved with a detailed relief of the original Audemars Piguet manufacture in Le Brassus, underscoring the brand’s heritage.

This exceptional example is offered in wonderful condition and comes complete with its original presentation box, embellished with the Boutique Edition plaque.
