Description
Featuring an emerald-cut sapphire weighing 20.10 carats, flanked by a pair of oval-shaped diamonds, size 7.
Accompanied by AGL report no. 1151799 dated October 27, 2025 stating that the sapphire is of Burmese origin, with no indications of heating.
This suite of jewels, stemming from an extensive collection belonging to a fourth generation Colorado mining family, reflects an appreciation for beautiful objects purely for the pleasure they bring, outside of any consideration for monetary value. Many of the jewels were given to mark special occasions and served as enduring symbols of happy moments shared with loved ones.
In addition to this unusually complete set of ‘Cheveux d’Ange’ jewels by Van Cleef & Arpels, there are two impressive step-cut rings, one set with an 18.18-carat Fancy Intense Yellow diamond (lot 126), the other with a 20.10-carat Burmese sapphire (lot 209). The remainder of the collection, including highly attractive jewels by Oscar Heyman Bros., will be offered in our auction of Fine Jewelry this season.
