Description

Château La Mission Haut-Brion 2009

Talence (Pessac-Léognan), Grand Cru Classé

Excellent levels and appearance

Only 50% of production went into the 'grand vin'. Very aromatic nose. Big, irony wine of rich alcohol. The earthiness of La Mission with juicy acidity to match the ripeness. Cigary and really mouth-coating. Gummy, liquorice, mineral taste of great volume. In 2013, a concentrated, 'tight' bouquet leads to a great, plummy, inky taste. A giant still slumbering. Sumptuous and many-layered. Serena Sutcliffe, MW
