Description

Quinta do Noval 1963

u. 1vts, 2ts, bin-soiled and scuffed labels, 1 wine-stained importer-made label, 1 cracked wax capsule, signs of seepage, wines come from different importers

In 2020, the nose is of ripe plums hanging from the tree, heather and cyclamens - intensely perfumed. Very black cherry and liquorice on the palate, with enormous depth. It rolls round the mouth with its glorious glycerol - and maximum 'legs'! The structure here is architectural, allied to the opulence and sheer fruit. As stunning as ever, if not more so. This remains on a splendid plateau and, obviously, will continue to do so. At Christmas 2022, it was tremendous with Christmas pudding and brandy butter! Serena Sutcliffe, MW
