Description

Petrus 1964

Pomerol

u. 2vts, 3ts, 1t/hs, 1hs, 2h/ms, 1ms, 1 bin-soiled and nicked label, 1 nicked label, nicked and slightly corroded capsules

In 2023, deep crimson colour to the rim. Astonishing - but this bottle was bought very young and then stored in a cold, damp cellar. Concentrated cassis, black cherry and tobacco nose. Then, more woodsmoke. On the palate, irony and velvety, with a touch of volatile which is utterly part of its persona and its epoch. The juiciness is amazing and the texture leaves its memory all over the mouth. Serena Sutcliffe, MW
