55% Cabernet Franc, 45% Merlot. A really lovely scent of violets immediately assails you, followed by a terrific taste of dark chocolate - very Bouchet, or Cabernet Franc! The Guinaudeaus did not chaptalise, whereas most people this year did a small amount of 'rounding up'. Class and glycerol, flesh and sweetness. This is my top wine of the vintage for its sheer beauty and breed. Brilliant vineyard and cellar work all round. Serena Sutcliffe, MW
