Labels slightly scuffed and soiled, 1 slightly torn at bottom, purchased from Sotheby's Hong Kong "The elbulli Cellar" in April 2013
Last tasted from magnum when it was 10 years old. This vintage was never racked. It was a classic year in Ribera. Incredible wet earth and red fruit nose, so youthful still. Great esterisation. Lovely chocolate, vanillin and liquorice on the palate. A touch of Bordeaux style but so full of individual personality. Peter Sisseck calls this vintage 'chic rustique'! Serena Sutcliffe, MW
