The Patek Philippe World Time with cloisonné enamel dial stands among the manufacture’s most coveted creations, a testament to its unparalleled mastery of haute horlogerie. Introduced in 2014, the pink gold reference 5131 was produced for only three years and pays homage to the legendary reference 1415, continuing a lineage cherished by collectors worldwide. With only two to three artisans capable of crafting these dials by hand, annual production across all metals was believed to be fewer than forty pieces.

Creating a cloisonné enamel dial is an exceptionally demanding art. Fine gold wires are painstakingly shaped to trace the continents, and each color is fired multiple times, a process in which many dials fail to survive. Only those that meet Patek Philippe’s exacting standards for color, clarity, and structural integrity are approved. The present example depicts Asia, Oceania, and the Americas, its vibrant composition offering a captivating display of craftsmanship. Notably, unlike its successor reference, the Patek Philippe signature is engraved on the bezel, leaving the enamel artwork entirely unobstructed.
