In the 1960s, Jean-Jacques Cartier introduced the first Extra-Flat variation of the Tank Louis. While retaining the classic 30 x 23 mm proportions of the standard model, this version featured a reengineered case construction and was powered by the ultra-thin Jaeger-LeCoultre caliber 838, resulting in a more elegant, streamlined silhouette.

The present lot is a faithful expression of that important era in the Tank L.C.'s history. What makes it particularly special is its inclusion in the Collection Privé Cartier Paris (CPCP), a significant and celebrated chapter in Cartier’s watchmaking legacy. Launched in 1998 and running until 2008, the CPCP paid tribute to Cartier’s heritage of mechanical timepieces at a time when the brand had become predominantly associated with quartz movements.
