The Panerai Reference PAM00249 Radiomir 1936, introduced in 2006, is a limited edition timepiece that pays homage to the brand's military origins. Limited to 1,936 pieces, this watch is a modern reinterpretation of the original 47mm Radiomir developed for the Royal Italian Navy's elite diving unit, the 1st Submersible Group, in 1936.
The PAM00249 captures the essence of its predecessor and incorporates a modern interpretation of the 'California' dial, combining Roman numerals on the upper half and Arabic numerals on the lower half. Notably, the dial is devoid of any inscriptions, a nod to the original military models that were intentionally left anonymous to protect the identities of their users.
