Patek Philippe brought a fresh perspective to the design of the Ref. 5060A, which would go on to evolve into the Aquanaut, first released in 1997. With its more relaxed case contours and sportier aesthetic, the model was designed to appeal to a younger generation drawn to the key design elements of the Nautilus, but seeking something more contemporary and adventure-ready.
The Ref. 5167 made its debut in 2007, introducing a sleeker dial design with a more inward date window. This modern update was paired with the now-iconic “Tropical” rubber strap and folding clasp, which notably no longer features the Nautilus engraving, setting it apart from previous models.
Signature features such as the embossed dial and bold Arabic numerals give the Aquanaut its distinctive character. The example presented here is made even more exceptional by the presence of the Tiffany & Co. signature on the dial, adding a rare and coveted layer of exclusivity to an already iconic timepiece.
