While Rolex may be one of the most famous watch brands in existence, it is best known for its “professional” watches, which tend to be time-only models made for divers, explorers, and pilots. However, the Rolex Sky-Dweller bucked that trend by introducing a truly complicated timepiece upon its release in 2012.
At its core, the Sky-Dweller is an annual calendar, elegantly integrated into the dial, with a month display indicated at each hour marker. The timepiece can be precisely set using the fluted bezel, which rotates to select the desired crown setting. The reference time is shown on the center subsidiary 24-hour dial, while the local time is indicated by the main hands.
Due to its complicated and prestigious movement, the Sky-Dweller was initially available only in precious metals—like our example here. Cased in Everose pink gold and paired with a crisp white and black alligator strap with a matching gold deployant clasp, the watch is in excellent condition. A more than suitable companion for the sophisticated traveler.
