The Reference 5712/1R-001 is a beautiful interpretation of the famous Patek Philippe Nautilus that features moon phases, power reserve indication, and small seconds on the dial. The harmonious dial configuration stays true to the sporty and elegant design ethos of the Nautilus. Under the refined brown sunburst with black gradient dial beats the self winding caliber 240 PS IRM C LU which is based on the famous ultra-thin caliber 240.
Introduced in the midst of the Quartz crisis in 1977, it was the thinnest self-winding caliber made possible with an innovative design. Instead of having the rotor be an additional layer above the movement, the rotor is instead housed in the movement itself, positioned off-center in a sunken recess. To compensate for the smaller size of this design, the rotor was crafted in 22k gold with the high karat gold being heavier and more sensitive to the wearer’s movements.
