Originally released in 1952, the Omega Constellation line has become a staple in the collection and continues to grow in popularity. Released in a variety of different shapes and sizes, featuring designs geared toward both men and women, the Constellation family has seen vast adaptations over the last few decades.
The present lot is a member of the Manhattan line, which was designed by Carol Didisheim in the middle of the 1980s. The case features four 'Griffes,' or claws, that extend around the case and onto the bezel, as seen at the 3 and 9 o'clock marks. This design feature is not only aesthetically pleasing but also serves a practical purpose of holding the crystal and case firmly together. The watch is also highlighted by its rounded case shape and is commonly found on an integrated bracelet.
The Manhattan line rose to popularity when Cindy Crawford became the face of the advertising campaign in 1995.
This example is in exceptional condition and is adorned by a stunning mother of pearl dial.
