In the late 1920s, Alexander Yakovlev kept a studio in Capri. Here, he worked on mythological scenes inspired by antiquity. It was in this studio, situated on an outcrop above the Tyrrhenian Sea, that Yakovlev created compositions of great poetry, inspired by the world of Olympian Gods and Heroes.
