the glass cut with star-faceted diamonds, the silver mount centred at either side with a cartouche between hung laurel festoons, within reeded borders, the domed lid with acanthus leaves and gadrooning, surmounted by a pinecone finial, the rectangular handles also with acanthus leaves, gilt interior, with later associated silver ladle, struck to body and lid with retailer's mark, maker's mark, 84 standard, and three further indistinct marks, the handles with kokoshnik head control mark 1908-1917
