the reeded rose-gold lid applied with a diamond-set double headed eagle, cabochon sapphire thumbpiece, gilt interior, struck to interior with Morosov below Imperial warrant, Cyrillic maker's initials I.P, with original Imperial presentation red leather case with double-headed eagle
height 9 cm; 3 1/2 in.
Presented in 1915 by Nicholas II to John Black, Assistant Chief Shipwright Engineer, in recognition of his outstanding achievement in the construction of vessels of war at the Admiralty's Baltic Shipbuilding and Engineering Works;
