MORE ABOUT THIS LOT:

Independence of mind, dedication, search for excellence, this is how the essence of Pichon Comtesse has been defined since 1850.
Virginie de Pichon-Longueville, Comtesse de Lalande by marriage, was a hard-working pioneer in the promotion of her wines' reputation and soon lent her name to the estate that would become Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande. A true family history, the estate has seen several influential personalities succeed one another, injecting both ambition and modernity. Ideally located in Pauillac, on the left bank of the Gironde estuary, the property is blessed with an exceptional 114 hectares estate. From the restructuring of its vineyard to the construction of modern technical installations, everything is done to allow the terroir of Pichon Comtesse to fully express itself: a great Pauillac wine, made with elegance and balance between power and sophistication. And since Louis Roederer Champagne house has bought this iconic winery, the promise of an incredible new chapter is held thanks to a motivated and highly invested team.
2012 Pichon Comtesse is a perfect example of what our fantastic terroir located south of Pauillac along the Gironde riverside can give. Strength and tannic sharpness of Cabernet-Sauvignon paired with the delicate flesh and aromatic elegance of Merlot. Aged more than ten years in this 6-litre format, it now expresses the fragrance of juicy blue and black berries associated with the refined perfume of iris and peony. The ageing potential of this wine is pretty good and will allow you to enjoy it for 15 to 20 more years.
My team and I are entirely dedicated to this beautiful winery and we hope you'll enjoy 2012 Pichon Comtesse very much. Please think of us when you have a glass of this wine we treasure so much.
Nicolas Glumineau
