"To me, gold is fascinating. Both matter and light, it evokes the sacred in many past or present traditions, either mystical or profane. As a mythical material, gold is The king metal among all metals, so strong because of its symbolic and material value. Immutable, it speaks of the sublime and the radiance, the solar and the eternity and embodies the spiritual quest. Gold seems to carry the light and it never rusts, a fetish, a value. It adorns and protects those who wear it. For all these reasons, gold has captivated artists from the highest antiquity to the most contemporary times and its symbolic particularities, sometimes paradoxical, has interested me for so many years."
