Honore Pons (1773-1851), clockmaker, received a silver medal in 1823 and gold medal in 1827 at exhibitions of French industrial products in Paris.
The design of this clock relates to a model by Feuchère and Fossey reproduced by Jacquet in Paris circa 1825 and illustrated, Ottomeyer, Pröschel et al., Vergoldete Bronzen, Munich, 1986, Vol. I, p. 398, fig. 5.18.17. An almost identical clock is illustrated in Decorative Objects, St. Petersburg Private Collections, Moscow, 1998, p. 144.
