Lin Shu (1852-1924), Landscape
ink and colour on paper, hanging scroll
signed Lin Shu with a dedication to Sir James Stewart Lockhart, and with one seal
132 x 34 cm, 52 by 13⅜ in.
Gifted to Sir James Stewart Lockhart (1858-1937) by Yang Tingxian of Yongcheng, October 1915, and thence by descent to his daughter, Mary Stewart Lockhart (1894-1985).
Gifted by the above to George Watson's College, Edinburgh, 1967.
An Ardent Collector, City Art Centre, Edinburgh, 1982-1983, cat. no. 73.
