Your gracious hospitality at the recent banquet left me deeply moved, and I am profoundly grateful. As instructed, I have taken note of the impending land reform and the potential hardships faced by those who have lost land without connections to industry or commerce, necessitating relief measures. In accordance with Chairman Mao's directive, I have drafted an organizational outline for either the ‘Council of Elders’ (Guo Lao Yuan) or the ‘Elder Scholars Institute’ (Qi Ying Guan). I respectfully submit it for your review. If you have time within the next day or two, please designate a time for me to visit and elaborate in person, as well as to receive your guidance.

Additionally, following Chairman Mao's verbal instructions, I am enclosing a list of Beijing elders submitted by a friend for your reference.
