Compare a related example with the same inscription, dated to the Song dynasty, in the Palace Museum, Beijing, illustrated in The Complete Collection of Treasures of the Palace Museum: Porcelain of the Song Dynasty (I), Hong Kong, 1996, pl. 154; and a Jin dynasty Cizhou pillow, also from the Zhang Family Workshop and decorated with a lobed cartouche enclosing a military scene, preserved in the British Museum, London (accession. no. 1936,1012.165).
