A fine copy of the reprint of the 1567 Franceschi and Criegher edition of Barbaro's translation.
4to (245 x 182 mm). Roman type, 48 lines plus headline. Collation: *4 A-N8 O-P4 Q8 R4 S1 T4 V1 X8 Y4 Z8 Aa-Nn8: 258 leaves. Title within woodcut border, woodcut initials and illustrations.
Binding: Later vellum over thin pasteboard (254 x 198 mm), flat spine, lettered in ink on spine.
Provenance: Conte Nicolò Maria Bodenti (of Crema, died 1723), inscription at foot of title [his books presumably inherited by] — Terni de Gregory, Crema, printed library label and ink stamp on flyleaf. Acquisition: Purchased in 1997 from Sokol Books, London. References: BAL RIBA 3524; Edit16 28172
