This finely cast and gilded gem-set image of Green Tara depicts the deity holding the stems of lotus flowers in each hand, seated at ease in lalitasana on a double lotus pedestal; the necklaces, armbands, girdle and robe each inlaid with beaded silver wire. Compare related thirteenth and fourteenth century Tibetan gem-set and silver-inlaid gilt copper sculptures included in Ulrich von Schroeder, Buddhist Sculptures in Tibet, Hong Kong, 2001, pls 257A and B.
