Ulrich Von Schroeder,2000年

Avalokiteshvara Padmapani holds the stem of a lotus, padma, in his raised left hand, the right lowered in the gesture of generosity and compassion (varada mudra), and standing in a slightly flexed posture (abhanga), with the skin of an antelope (ajina), tied by its legs across his chest.

Compare two examples in the Potala Collection, both adorned with an antelope skin and with similar hand gestures, including the marked inward movement of the lowered right hand, and the idiosyncratic triangular shape behind the lotus flower at the shoulder, in Ulrich von Schroeder, Buddhist Sculptures in Tibet, Hong Kong, 2001, Vol II, pls. 303C, E.
