Description
MOANA
A set of two re-created production maquettes comprised of resin, paint, and metal, fabricated in 2016.
“Moana” maquette measuring 8.5 in tall and 10 in wide, on round base with a diameter of 9 in.
“Maui” maquette measuring 14.5 in tall and 11 in wide, on round base with a diameter of 9.5 in.
The present lot—maquettes of the titular characters “Moana” and “Maui” from Disney's 2016 animated feature, Moana—were recreated by the Walt Disney Animation Research Library using the same designs as maquettes created for the feature's production.
Both striking triumphant poses, these maquettes depict Moana aiming her spear and Maui holding his magical hook aloft in two iconic moments from the film.
