The sculptur, Angelo de Rossi, is recorded by Giuseppe Antonio Guattani in Memorie enciclopediche sulle antichità e belle arti di Roma, 1806-1819, Voll. I-VIII, as the author of a colossal head of Napoleon after Canova.

A small bronze signed figure depicting the Farnese Hercules was sold at Sotheby's London, 6 July 2007, lot. 152.

A small signed bronze copy of the Borghese Gladiator was sold at Christie's Amsterdam, Property from the Collection of the Princely House of Liechtenstein, 1 April 2008, lot. 313.
