Johann Georg Sindler (1669–1732), known as Carlo Sindler Romano, an Austrian-born wax sculptor, was active in Rome during the first quarter of the 18th century. A wax portrait of Pope Benedict XIII by him is preserved at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London (cf. Pyke, op. cit.).
