One other example of this rare figure is in the Colli collection, Milan, illustrated in A. Biancalana, Porcellane Ginori a Doccia, La Stanza delle Meraviglie di Carlo Colli, Milan, 2023, pp. 226-27, cat. no. 27, formerly sold, Property of Mrs. Maria Arrigoni, Christie's, London, 5 June 1961, lot 104. The author references the factory inventory of molds where this figure is listed as a 'Turca sedente', among a series of twenty-four oriental figures: 'Nella sesta stanza, N. 3. A questo numero vi sono 24 figure orientali, che le forme vengano segnate ciascheduna col n. 35. che sono:', [In the sixth room, n. 3, At this number there are 24 Oriental figures, each of the molds is marked with the number 35. The figures represented are]:

'Turca / Ragazza Turca / Turca sedente / Soldato / Donna turca / Bassà / Serva turca / Giannizzzero / Turco / Mora/ Eunuco / Sacerdote Greco / Turca sedente / Turco / Turca / Armeno / Armena / Uffiziale / Fanciulla / Prete Greco / Donna Turca / Sultana / Ragazza turca'.

The inspiration for the model may have been the engraving by Jean-Baptiste Haussard, la Fille Turque prenant le Caffè sur le Sopha, from the circa 1714 publication Recueil de cent estampes représentant differentes nations du Levant.
