oval, the lid set with a an earlier portrait miniature of Louis XVI wearing the Order of the Holy Spirit, signed and dated: Sicardy, 1784 to left, for Louis Marie Sicardi, painted on ivory, in a double rose-cut diamond-set frame, on a sparkling tobacco-coloured enamel ground, within opaque white enamel scrollwork borders, the gold mounts further decorated with brightly-enamelled flower garlands, the sides and base similarly decorated with further laurel dividers, French prestige marks
