circular, the lid centered with a circular enamel plaque painted with a rose against a dark blue background, within white enamel frames and gold paillon entrelac-de-rubans border, the gold ground with concentric reeded and pellet engine-turning, further quatrefoil and scrollwork paillon borders on dark blue enamel, the sides and base decorated en suite, rubbed maker's mark (probably missing the third letter), second set of charge and discharge marks of Henri Clavel (1782-1789), Paris date letter P85, further struck: 2705
