Description
Old Taylor 100 Proof 1916
Distilled in Fall 1916, bottled in Spring 1933, ullage: mid-shoulder, original carton worn and damaged, missing top of the box
After being forced to sell his Old Fashioned Copper Distillery (today’s Buffalo Trace), Col. E.H. Taylor opened the Old Taylor Distillery nearby. A state-of-the-art facility set in a manicured lawn, it produced some of the best bourbon of the early 20th century. It closed during Prohibition and was purchased by the American Medicinal Whiskey Co. This bottle, at a stunning 17 years in age, was released in 1933, the same year that Prohibition ended.
