Vineyards of Distinction | From Burgundy & Bordeaux to California: Icons from a Noted Cellar

Sotheby’s Wine is thrilled to present Vineyards of Distinction I From Burgundy & Bordeaux to California: Icons from a Noted Cellar.

There are many Vineyards of Distinction around the globe and the discovery of many of them is a fantastic journey for many collectorswith so many choices and diversity. Trying to taste and find the perfect one is a pleasing adventure for many collectors and this wine collection is the embodiment of a grand tour of the most brilliant vineyards around the world and we are thrilled to be able to bring it to our international clients.

It goes without saying that the wines are wonderful, but they are also fascinating and varied, ranging from classic to treasure trove. It is a vintage journey where brilliant vineyards from the Old World meet New World gems with some magnificent magnums and other large formats scattered in generous fashion.

From France to California, where else could one come across, in the same sale, 1st Classed Growth Latour and Haut Brion 1961a Jeroboam of the opulent Mouton 2000 to double magnums of Ponsot Clos de la Roche Vieilles Vignes 2010Domaine de la Romanée-Conti & Guigal LaLa’s Assortments to Domaine du Pegau De Capo 2000Harlan Estate 2001, Sine Qua Non 2009, or the legendary Vouvray Le Haut Lieu Moelleux 1945 from Huet.

Then there are the classics, and these come in show-stopping style. One's eye is immediately drawn, for example, to the line-up of extraordinary vintages produced in the past 50 years from legendary ready to drink 1980s vintages to monuments for laying down, such as the fabulous 2005s, 2009s and 2010s, all reasons for living.

The Burgundy is breathtaking, both in its splendour and rarity. Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, Mugnier, Domaine Leflaive, Maison and Domaine Leroy, Armand Rousseau trip off the tongue, in every sense of the word. In the Rhône, Guigal and Rayas reign supreme along with a breath of Châteauneuf du Pape from Beaucastel to Domaine du Pegau.

Most importantly, this is a transcontinental cellar, and the vast array of New World Wine will please every Collector with a fantastic offering rarely seen in Europe, Vérité, Torbreck, Colgin, Belle Brise, Sine Qua Non…California is shining in this sale.

This distinctive collection has wines for every taste and passion, enabling the most committed and knowledgeable wine connoisseurs to find what they have always wanted around the globe, and we are delighted to share this incredible vinous voyage.
