Small 4to (181 x 146 mm). Engraved title vignette, engraved arms on dedication, 6 engraved maps (5 folding) and 9 plates; scattered light soiling, marginal repair to A4, a few neat repairs to folding maps and plates, one folding map heavily resorted, figures on one plate censored by an early hand. Stiff contemporary vellum, manuscript title to spine; rebacked retaining a portion of the original spine, recased with renewed endpapers, somewhat stained and worn.


A scarce work, containing accounts of the four voyages around the world by Magellan, Drake, Cavendish, and Van Noort. "Constitutes the sixth part of Sammlung von sechs und zwanzig Schiffahrten in verschiedene fremde Länder ... compiled by Levinus Hulsius, and printed in 26 parts in Nuremberg, Frankfurt am Main, Oppenheim, and Hanau from 1598 to 1663" (John Carter Brown Library).
