Edo period, 18^thcentury

the eighteen-plate russet iron bowl with raised ridges, terminating in a silver tehen kanamono of floret form, stenciled Dutch leather peak and turnbacks, applied with shakudo mon [crest] and rims, the two-tiered black lacquer neck guard with spaced lacing in dark blue braid

The bowl to peak: 27 cm., 10½ in.
