The First Spacewalk
Color photograph, 10 x 8 inches, SIGNED and INSCRIBED by Pilot ALEXEI LEONOV in silver ink: "First spacewalker / Leonov / Voskhod.2 / 18 03 65"
This incredible image shows Voskhod 2 Pilot Alexei Leonov performing humanity's first ever spacewalk on March 18, 1965. Upon Commander Pavel Belyayev's depressurization of the airlock, Leonov opened the hatch, exited the airlock, and extended away from the spacecraft the full length of his 5.35m/17.6 ft umbilicus.
