Presentation Model of an Engine, manufacturer unknown (likely NASA Lewis Research Center), ca. 1970.


Wood, metal, and plastic model, 18 x 16 x 11½ inches, acrylic and metal base. Slight chipping to intake manifold and warping to metal grates, one radiator fan blade missing. Housed in the original metal case, 24¼ x 22 x 18¼ inches.

This presentation engine model comes from the NASA Lewis Research Center (now the NASA John H. Glenn Research Center at Lewis Field) where early engine research eventually morphed into the study of jet propulsion and space power technology as the 20th century progressed.
