This is a rare demo record of the Beatles' first hit, "Love Me Do," from 1962. This Parlophone record is one of only 250 that were produced with Paul McCartney's surname misspelled as "McArtney." These demo copies were distributed to journalists, radio stations, and disc jockeys ahead of the single's official release to promote the Beatles' debut track.
"Love Me Do", written by Paul McCartney and John Lennon, reached #17 on the UK Singles Chart in 1962, and topped the US Billboard Hot 100 in 1964. The initial pressing of the single features Ringo Starr on drums, while the version with Andy White on drums was later used on the Beatles' debut album Please Please Me. This rare demo record includes the recording with Starr on drums.
