Description

The cylindrical body chased and embossed with grotesque winged figures amongst scrolls, the scroll handle with bifurcated thumb-piece, the underside of the base engraved with a coat-of-arms; together with a parcel-gilt silver beaker, maker's mark 'IGB[?]', Lüneburg, circa 1680, the sides embossed with flower and scrolling foliage, on three ball feet, sold with an old inventory index card with expertise by the art historian and museum curator Dr. Horst Appuhn.
