with deep rounded sides rising from a short foot, flanked by a pair of dragon-form handles, the exterior of the vessel painted with two pairs of confronting dragons soaring above rocks and waves, each beast rendered holding a pearl enclosing a character, forming wanshou qitian ('a myriad longevities, equal to heaven'), the base inscribed with a six-character reign mark within a double circle, Japanese wood box

Wanli cups with such form and decoration are rare.
