Follower of Bernard Palissy (1510 - 1589)
French, first half of the 17th century
Ewer and an Oval dish with an Allegory of Spring or 'la Belle jardinière'
the ewer probably by Maître au Dragon
the body decorated with strawberry leaves, strawberries and blueberries
32cm., 12⅝in.
the oval dish with Flora seated in a garden, after Marten de Vos (1532 - 1603), circa 1600
the rim with green and blue foliage in a white interlace, the reverse with a mottled pattern
with a label on the reverse inscribed: COLLECTION / G. PAPILLON / N° 1134, inscribed: n° 1134 in black ink
