A celadon jade 'boy' pouring vessel

Ming dynasty

明 青玉雕榴開百子洗


with rounded incurved sides and a broad, upturned floriform spout, resting on a sinuous branch issuing curved leaves and stylized blossoms that wrap around the vessel and frame the rim, with a small figure of a smiling boy perched on one stem while holding onto the sides, the stone a beige-celadon tone with scattered fine russet fissures and icy inclusions
