Released to great anticipation in Basel 2010, the Ref. 5170 was the first men’s wristwatch from Patek Philippe to feature their own in-house designed and manufactured chronograph movement, cal. CH 29-535 PS. The movement required five years to develop and introduced six new innovative patents, while retaining the traditional column wheel design. The case bears a striking resemblance to the vintage Ref. 530 and smaller Ref. 130 chronographs, which were both based on the classic Calatrava model. Fitted with an elegant silvered dial with a pulsations scale, we are pleased to offer this lot complete with its full set of accessories.
