In 2007, marking the 10th anniversary of the Aquanaut, Patek Philippe unveiled the reference 5167 as a significant evolution within the collection. Featuring a stainless steel case measuring 40.8 mm, a new dial was fitted with a defined pattern, and the 3 o'clock hour marker was removed to create additional space for the date aperture. Complementing these updates, an improved rubber strap was introduced, ensuring both style and durability.
Simultaneously launched, the 5165 emerged with a slightly smaller 38.8 mm case, serving as a direct successor to its predecessor, the reference 5065A. However, it's noteworthy that the 5165 only remained in the catalogue for five years before being discontinued. In contrast, its larger counterpart, the 5167, continues to hold its ground within the current collection, demonstrating enduring appeal and relevance. Accompanied by its full set of accessories, this present example is in overall very good condition and is a great opportunity to acquire one of Patek Philippes most highly sought after timepieces.
