The Audemars Piguet Black Panther is a masterpiece of daring horological artistry that embodies the essence of luxury, fun, and innovation. Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, this watch pays homage to the iconic Marvel character ‘Black Panther’. It draws inspiration not from the 2018 movie but rather from the character's iconic comic book origins, conceived before the film became a landmark cultural event that grossed over $1.3 billion worldwide.

To create this captivating rendition of the Black Panther poised in action, Audemars used white gold. The figure undergoes a meticulous process, starting with CNC machining, followed by laser sculpting to bring out textures and patterns, and then hand engraving to refine details such as claws, eyes, facial features, and suit details. Finally, hand painting adds the finishing touches to these unique ‘miniature sculpture’ watches. Positioned above the flying tourbillon and surrounded by a purple dial insert, this crouched figurine lends an extraordinary three-dimensionality to the watch.

Its sleek, sandblasted titanium case is a twist on the original Royal Oak design, featuring a black ceramic bezel secured by eight exposed screws, akin to its exhibition case back. Through this case back, the hand-wound 17-jeweled movement, caliber 2965, with a flying Tourbillon and 72-hour power reserve, is visible. Much like the film, the Royal Oak Concept Black Panther quickly became a cultural icon. Although produced in a limited edition of only 250 examples, it has graced the wrists of many sportsmen and celebrities, including LeBron James, Serena Williams, DJ Khaled, The Weeknd, Neymar Jr., and Erling Haaland, to name just a few.
