Released in 1972 and designed by Gerald Genta, watchmaking's most famous designer, the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak was the first stainless steel luxury sports watch ever to exist. The present reference 6023AC Royal Oak is finished in luxury two color gold and further distinguished as it is a piece commissioned by The Sultan of Oman, His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said al Said. The dial of the present watch proudly exhibits the "Khanjar" daggers - the emblem of Oman - on the lower part of the dial. The dial is further finished with diamond-set indexes.
